An escape room game gives you the chance to disconnect from the world and fully envelop yourself in a brand new experience. Taking on the challenge of an escape room experience is truly immersive and memorable, giving you a grand sense of achievement for completing complex puzzles while under the intense pressure of a strict time limit.

How Do Escape Rooms Work?

There are a few things that you should keep in mind when it comes to completing an escape room adventure game. Below, we discuss what to expect from an escape room and how you can prepare for your journey into the unknown. 

Face the Escape Room With a Larger Team or Brave it as a Pair?

First things first, you need to assemble your team – and remember, cooperation and communication are key. 

Will you just select your best friends and subjugate each other to the different methods you use to solve puzzles? Will you go with your company for a team-building exercise? Or will you assemble a crack team of escape room professionals to swiftly defeat the challenges that lie in wait? 

Whatever combination of people you choose for the completion of the escape room, keep in mind that escape rooms are built with effective teamwork in mind, so a team of 2 to 6 individuals will provide the best experience.

• Inventor’s Odyssey Through Time: Your team are sent into the laboratory of a famous inventor. Your mission: To stop the secret of time travel from falling into the wrong hands. To do this, you’ll need to journey back and forth in time, all within the same ever-changing laboratory, and with just 60 minutes on the clock.
• The Billion Pound Heist: Break into the safehouse of London’s most notorious criminal gang, analyse highly confidential intel, and crack the tough security systems before encountering the vault. Starting within a high-end art gallery, this mission will take your team into the perilous depths of London, with stakes that couldn’t be higher. Should you make it, remember your mission, and don’t let yourself get distracted by the fathomless riches!
• World of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Step into a world of magic in this incredible room, where your team of witches and wizards will need to solve a supernatural disappearance. Across your adventure, you’ll have to harness the power of magic and the strength of all your deductive capabilities to succeed.

Learn the Rules

There are a few guidelines and tips that you should know prior to entering an escape room. Although your questmaster will instruct you on everything you need to know about your chosen escape room, some greatly important rules to know is that you shouldn’t be forceful with any of the set, and try not to spoil the excitement by spilling secrets about the game to others. 

In addition, your questmaster will also provide instructions on how to play your chosen game – a very crucial aspect to which you must pay close attention in order to understand the story, and a general idea of the direction you need to go in order to complete the game.

Now that you’ve been informed of everything you need to know, the fun can begin! Enter the escape room and fully immerse yourself in the world we’ve carefully crafted for you, and complete the missions we’ve laid out to complete the escape room.

You will definitely have fun, but you may get frightened, stressed, or frustrated with your team – don’t panic, you can always ask for a hint from the questmaster!

FAQs 

Can you get locked in an escape room?

You are never going to be physically trapped within an escape room. This means that if you need to leave at any time during the game, you’re always welcome to step out! Simply alert your EQ Handler, and we can let you out at any point. 

What happens if I can’t complete an escape room?

To complete an escape room, you’ll need to work out the clues and components of a series of puzzles within the room itself. If you find yourself struggling at any point, try to regroup and refresh your minds – taking this time can help realise what clues your group has amassed, which can lead to the completion of the puzzle. You can even ask for hints during the game itself!

However, if you fail to complete the room within the allotted time frame, the result will depend on the mission. Your character could die, they could go to jail, or simply fail to become a fully qualified witch or wizard; and you will be allowed to leave the room. In our experience, unless you specifically request that you not be given clues, this is unlikely to happen!
