Behind every door in the Escape Arcade™ is a unique simulation, challenging your reactions, deduction, and teamwork.
Take a seat at a high-stakes casino table, and bring your math A-game! Twenty One requires quick thinking, problem-solving, and, above all else, keeping your cool.
Your team will take your places around the green felt and watch the screen to see which number appears. This is your target, and it’s up to you to create an equation that equals it from the 5 scrollable numbers embedded within the table. But, unfortunately for you, it’s not that easy; between each number is an arithmetic operation (+ – ÷ x) that will change each time. You’ll need to work together to build an equation that reaches the target number, racing against the clock to complete as many sequences as possible.
Perhaps our most controversial simulation in the Escape Arcade™, Twenty One will be a blessing for some teams and a curse for others. Math fanatics rejoice, and math haters steer clear!

Mental maths
Twenty One is a math-focused game, the only one within the arcade, and as such, is calling for a specific set of skills. To excel, you must be able to figure out an equation with 5 separate numbers quickly.
Teamwork
The best teams combine their math abilities through clear communication and quick responses to suggestions.
Focus
With a timer ticking down throughout, you’ll need to keep your focus to keep scoring points. Take your eye off the ball, and you’ll find the game is over quicker than you might think.

Top Tips
You will be given a set mathematical symbol between each number, meaning that your finished equation must fit those specific parameters. There is always a correct answer, and it’s up to you to figure it out.
If your team is blessed with more than one skilled mathematician, it’s often better to puzzle the numbers separately, before calling out a successful solution when you find it. This way, the team can react without talking over or confusing each other.
Look, we’re not saying to go back to school, but if you really want to reach the top of the Twenty One leaderboards, it might be time to brush up on your mental maths. The numbers round on Countdown is a great place to start.
This isn’t a real casino, just a lifelike simulation! Should things start to go haywire, your life savings aren’t on the line. Try to remain focused on the equation and not give in to panic or annoyance; it won't help!
If your team is stocked with math-sceptics who struggle to divide a bill, use their phone calculator for basic sums, and rely on their parents for financial management advice, our top tip is to choose one of the other rooms instead, unless you really want to see how badly a team can score!
