Could an Escape Room be the Perfect Date Night For You?

Whether you’re looking for an interesting location for a first date or an exciting shared activity for couples, escape rooms are a fantastic time for those who like to have fun, who enjoy puzzles, or are looking to do something a little different.

Are Escape Rooms a Good Idea For a First Date?

When looking for the ideal first date idea, the best activity will really depend on the type of people you both are. An escape room is a great way to establish communication, whilst giving you something to focus on (and maybe talk about over a post-game drink).

However, the intensity of an escape room can mean that they’re not the perfect choice for everyone, so it’s probably best to establish in advance their interest. You could complete an escape room as an afternoon activity during the weekend, or book a slot after work, though remember to wear comfortable clothing.

What About as a Second Date Idea?

For a second date, an escape room is a more sure-fire bet. By this point, you’ll be comfortable in each other’s company, and having a specific activity rather than just getting drinks can give you plenty to talk about. An escape room can help to build your communication skills as a pair, there’s a reason many of our customers choose us for team-building activities.

As an escape room takes a compact 60 minutes to complete, you can easily combine it with another activity like a meal. Compared to the classic dinner and a movie, an escape room experience will let you work together and build up a rapport.

Are Escape Rooms Good For Dates Later in a Relationship?

Escape rooms offer a great date night activity for couples, providing a chance to demonstrate your communication and deduction skills within a vibrant and exciting environment. The range of puzzles within each room means that both parties will be able to contribute.

For avid puzzlers, or just those looking to try something new, escape rooms are a brilliant choice. The same aspects that make escape rooms great for team building can be applied to your relationship, letting you get to know each other better in a fun environment.

For those who are inexperienced, escape rooms such as Enigma Quests will always accommodate new players. Games start with a full introduction from your questmaster, who will bring you into the world of the game while also laying out the rules of the room.

Throughout the game, your questmaster will be available over the radio to give you either general or specific pointers if you’re going off track. This helps to ensure that whether you’re completing your first or 101st escape room, you can have an engaging and enjoyable time.

Double Date Nights in an Escape Room

While all of our rooms can be completed by teams of two, they can also be a great activity for two couples. Whether looking for an activity that can help bring a new partner into a group, or for a way to spend an evening with old friends, you’ll all have to work together to identify clues, solve puzzles, and ultimately win the game.

Spending Your Date Night in One of Our Escape Rooms

Our three rooms can be booked by couples or teams of 3-5, perfect for a double escape room date. Offering slots 7 days a week including evenings, our rooms combine exciting settings with brain-bending puzzles, requiring teams to work together to complete their challenges. We currently offer 3 thrilling escape room games:

  • School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: The perfect date night for lovers of all things fantasy and magic, in this room your team will be tasked with passing your end-of-year exams at the prestigious School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, across subjects like potions, charms, and defence against the dark arts. This stunningly detailed room has shocks, surprises, and more than a little magic.
  • Submarine: Mission Wavebreak: A pulse-quickening thrill ride across the rooms of a nuclear submarine, this escape game charges you and your partner with averting a global catastrophe at the bottom of the sea. In our experience, couples often perform better in this room than larger groups, making it a great choice for a date night.
